Redistricting 2021

  • Redistricting is the process by which a school district ensures population balance in each of its Governing Board areas. Trustee areas must be made as equal in population as possible and practicable so that communities have equal access to political representation. In the ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ Union School District, there are five (5) trustee areas.  

    After every Census, school districts are required to:

    1. Review the population data to determine if their board areas are still within the allowable variance.
    2. Make any necessary adjustments to the areas to ensure population balance.

    The 2021 redistricting effort will impact the board areas for the 2022 elections. The input of the community is critical to creating a map that provides fair and effective representation for all citizens of the District.
