¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ Union School District is pleased to be a part of the After School Education and Safety Program (ASES). The ASES Grant provides the Extended Day Program at no cost to income qualified families of TK to 8th grade students. Many of our Elementary Schools, as well as all of our Middle Schools have received grant funding from the State of California to implement this program. The program is designed to provide an engaging, educational, emotionally stable, and safe environment for children before and after school.
First priority shall go to pupils who are identified by the program as homeless youth, as defined by the federal Mckinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. Sec. 11434a), at the time that they apply for enrollment or at any time during the school year, and to pupils who are identified by the program as being in foster care, and to pupils who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals. Second priority for enrollment will be given to students who can attend the full range of hours every day. Non-compliance with the attendance and late arrival policy may result in disenrollment from the program.
Attendance requirements are associated with this program. Students enrolled in the program must meet these requirements in order to access and remain in the program. Students are required to attend the program each day the program is open. Elementary students that are enrolled in the before school program must arrive at 6:30am. If enrolled in the after school program, students must stay until the program closes at 6:00pm. Middle School students enrolled in an ASES before school program must arrive at 7:00am. If enrolled in the after school program or club, they must stay until the conclusion of the program at 6:30pm.
